On our second ever evening, Lorna Houston spoke to us about her experiences as high school student activist during Apartheid. Her descriptions of being in jail as such a young women were surreal to hear and really brought home the sacrifices she has made. Her insight, that compassion moves us to action, has rung in our ears at 1001 ever since.
