June Esau

June is a force to be reckoned with. After being inspired by her parents, she was an activist from an early age and continues to be so today. She shares her story with firm courage and conviction. Suffering jail time and abuse at the hands of the apartheid security police, June says she found an inner strength she didn't realise she had. She details the pull between activism and motherhood and shares how she continues to try make South Africa a better place to live in today, through her organisation in Elsie's River, Vorentoe. Not everyone has the capacity to disclose what happened to them in jail, but June graced us with this knowledge making it a must listen to fully grasp the horror that was Apartheid. Thank you June, you are incredible!
